Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of ReefCrafter at reefcrafter.com (the “Service”). ReefCrafter is operated by an independent solo founder. By using the Service, creating an account, or saving a build, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

What ReefCrafter is

ReefCrafter is a free reef-tank build planner. It helps hobbyists plan equipment, livestock, and a first-90-days checklist for a saltwater aquarium. ReefCrafter is informational. It does not sell or hold inventory and does not replace advice from a qualified aquatic veterinarian, a licensed electrician, or a local fish store.

Open beta and no warranty

ReefCrafter is currently in open beta. The compatibility rules, gear suggestions, livestock data, and checklists are provided “as is” with no warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Reef-keeping involves living animals, electricity, and water. You are responsible for the safety and welfare of your tank, livestock, home, and any people in it.

Acceptable use

• Do not abuse, scrape, or attempt to disrupt the Service.
• Do not use ReefCrafter to harass other users or to publish content that is illegal, defamatory, or harmful.
• Do not attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' saved builds or accounts.
• Do not resell, repackage, or redistribute ReefCrafter content (rules, guides, templates, livestock data) as your own product.

Accounts and saved builds

Saving and sharing builds, opting into reminder emails, or marking a build as public requires an account. Accounts use a magic-link email sign-in. You are responsible for keeping access to the email you sign up with. You can delete your saved builds from your account page at any time. To delete an account entirely, contact us at the email on the contact page.

Affiliate links

ReefCrafter participates in vendor affiliate programs and may earn a commission on outbound purchases. Affiliate relationships do not change the rules engine, the gear recommendations, or the compatibility findings. See our Affiliate Disclosure for details.

Privacy

Use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect, why, and your choices.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ReefCrafter and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenues, livestock, equipment, or data, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service shall not exceed twenty US dollars ($20).

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
