Affiliate Disclosure

Last updated: April 2026

ReefCrafter participates in affiliate programs run by reef and aquarium retailers. When you click an outbound vendor link on this site ("Buy at Bulk Reef Supply", "Buy at Saltwater Aquarium", etc.) and make a purchase within that vendor's tracking window, ReefCrafter may earn a commission on the sale. The price you pay is the same whether you click through us or go directly to the vendor.

This disclosure is provided in compliance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising (16 CFR Part 255).

How we use affiliate revenue

Affiliate commissions are how ReefCrafter stays free. We do not charge users, sell ads, or hold inventory. Every dollar we earn comes from vendors paying us a small percentage when you buy gear we recommended.

How recommendations are chosen

Our compatibility engine picks gear based on the rules of reef-keeping — skimmer size for your bioload, light coverage for your tank footprint, heater wattage for your volume, and so on. Recommendations are not influenced by which vendor pays us more. We deliberately keep our affiliate partners' commission rates uniform, and we surface competing vendors side-by-side so you can pick where to buy.

Affiliate programs use cookies to attribute purchases to the referring site. These cookies typically last 7 to 30 days depending on the vendor. We do not use cookies for cross-site advertising or to build user profiles.
